Just in time for year-end IEP meetings, this training is designed for parents, educators, attorneys and health care providers who advocate for children with disabilities. One-day special education law and advocacy programs focus on four areas:

  • special education law, rights and responsibilities

  • tests and measurements to measure progress & regression

  • SMART IEPs

  • introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy

Registration begins at 8 AM. The conference fee includes a light breakfast, full lunch, a Wrightslaw highlighter pen, three Wrightslaw books -

 

  • Wrightslaw: Special Education Law, 3rd Ed.,

  • Wrightslaw: From Emotions to Advocacy, 2nd Ed., and

  • Wrightslaw: All About IEPs

 

That morning, all attendees will be provided with a link to a password-protected subdirectory so that they can download those three books in a PDF format. The three print and PDF books retail for $103.70.

 

PENDING: 6.0 CLE (Continuing Legal Education) credits will likely be available through The State of Colorado Supreme Court Office of Continuing Legal and Judicial Education. If you plan on obtaining these credits, please select the "CLE Add On" at checkout for $50. A certificate will be awarded to those seeking CLE credits after the conference.
